SNAP  is a registered charity (No.1077787) that supports families living under Essex County Council, Thurrock or Southend with children and young people who have any additional need and disability.Our aims are to inform, encourage and support parents, so that they can grow in strength and knowledge and become better equipped to give the best possible help to their children. Supporting the development of communication and independence skills of those who are multi sensory impaired / have complex disabilities

SNAP is pleased to welcome Liz Gabriel-Cole, Multi-Sensory Impairment consultant teacher from national charity, Sense. In this session for parents, Liz will be discussing a range of strategies to develop communication, independence and play in children and young people with multi-sensory impairment and/or complex disabilities. Strategies will include: <ul><li>The use of routines to develop anticipation</li></ul><ul><li>Total Communication</li></ul><ul><li>The use of touch cues, object cues and objects of reference</li></ul><ul><li>The use of hand under hand techniques</li></ul><ul><li>Active Learning and creating interactive environments with resources such as a Little Room and Resonance Board.</li></ul>Important Information Zoom Webinar - join us during the live webinar via the Zoom application. You will have the opportunity to submit a question during the session via the Q&amp;A feature. Attendees will not be seen or heard during the webinar, attendee names are only visible to the webinar panellists.
