Live participatory choir performance and boat sail past

Live choral performance on the seafront by Hampton Yacht Club. Choral work composed by award-winning composer and sound-maker Lauriem from Martinique.At 8pm, a choir will perform for about 45 minutes, a lyrical piece to the winds and wind's power. While the choir is singing, two sailing dinghies will sail past and around. Their mainsails will have the poetic title of the project, The People Will Possess The Wind. One boat is a wooden lug-rigged 14ft boat, and the other a 14ft Yachting World Dayboat. Part of The People Will Possess the Wind programme of events, performances, publication and film screenings.Reimagining our relationship with wind energy through live choral performances, sailing on the Estuary, film and publication. How would it be if we came to possess the wind farms? If we felt that they were ‘our’ wind farms? Just as it is ‘Our NHS’.
