The Peasants’ Revolt of 1381 was a major medieval uprising. Prof Adrian Bell is Chair of History of Finance at the University of Reading.

This presentation will take place on Zoom. Joining details for the event will be sent to ticket holders at 8am on Wednesday 3rd March 2021. If you book a place after this time, please contact the branch secretary (richardiiigloucesterofficer@gmail) for joining details. The talk itself will be no longer than an hour, with time after a short break for questions. Questions should be sent to the moderator/host (this will show as &#x27;Branch Officer&#x27;) via the chat function during the talk. The Peasants’ Revolt was one of the largest popular uprisings in medieval Europe and rocked the country in the summer of 1381. Central to this innovative project is the creation of a database to provide the first overview of events, places and people involved. Judicial and manorial documents will be combined with records of central and local government, poll tax records and more, to reconstruct collective biographies of the people caught up in the rising.
