Note new event time of 1.30-2.30pmOver the last 20 years increasing numbers of communities in Scotland have benefited from community benefit funds which have been designed and delivered in many different ways. Many communities have harnessed them to create significant social, economic and environmental outcomes and welcomed their reliability and predictably. ‘Doing community development with the money’ is a phrase <a href="https://www.foundationscotland.org.uk/" title="https://www.foundationscotland.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Foundation Scotland</a> often uses to describe the opportunity these funds provide.But they come with challenges too – precisely because their scope and structure can be so broad.In this session Foundation Scotland will share some insights and learning about community benefit funds and provide some practical ways communities can maximise funds provided by commercial scale low carbon projects. The session will also be helpful to those involved with community owned energy projects providing community benefit funds.Foundation Scotland is Scotland’s Community Foundation and the only independent organisation providing specialist community benefit fund design, grant-making, and fund management support nationally across Scotland.
