Developing Together Teaching Partnership

Open to practice educators, practice assessors, on-site supervisors and anyone who supports and assesses Social Work learners

This interactive workshop will use a mixture of presentation and group work to consider how we can assess and evidence values and ethics in practice when working with social work learners.This workshop is suitable for all practitioners involved in enabling and assessing social work learners such as experienced Practice Educators in need of a refresher/update on current practice,  newly qualified PEs and PEPS trainees, Onsite Supervisors.Please note that the majority of the content will be relevant for ASYE assessors and Mentors/OSS of apprentices, however, assessment frameworks, such as PCF levels will focus on student levels and not ASYE level. The workshop will not address social work (integrated degree) apprenticeship standards as Kingston University provides separate workshops for apprenticeship mentors and OSS of apprentices.Learning outcomes<ul><li>A refresher of values and ethics in Social Work &amp; what a Social Work Student/Learner is expected to show capability on during their placement</li><li>Methods of assessing students’ understanding, development and use of values and ethics in practice </li><li>Practical tools you can use for discussion, development and assessment of values and ethics</li></ul>Non-attendance at a CPD/event that you have either registered for or a manager has registered you for, may result in a charge to your employer at the following rates: £50 up to a half-day session, £100 for up to a full day. Unless there is a valid reason that can be confirmed and approved by your manager and apologies are sent.<ul><li>If you know you can’t make the event, please cancel your ticket on Eventbrite - this automatically offers someone on the waiting list the opportunity to attend. If unable to do so via Eventbrite, please email admin@developingtogetherswtp.org.uk</li><li>It is your responsibility to save the date until a Zoom link is sent to you to access the session.</li><li>It is your responsibility to ensure prior to the event you can access the Zoom link and that your organisation does not block access. This may mean you need to liaise with your own IT department to ensure that you can access the training or use a personal device such as mobile phone or personal computer.</li><li>Join on time. We won’t register anyone who is more than 15 mins late. If you do join after registration, you will not be able to receive the session materials or CPD certificate.</li><li>In order for the session to be interactive and to support the trainer to facilitate effectively, as far as possible:</li></ul><ol><li>please turn your cameras on.</li><li>please click on the participants icon, and check that your name is displayed correctly. We also need your name to register you and send you a CPD Certificate!</li><li>please do participate, either by using the chat, or by asking a question.
