Healing Justice Ldn emerged as a collaboration by Women of Colour living in London working on the intersection of community work, trauma and health, creativity and liberation practice. We build community health, repair and self-transformation rooted in disability justice, somatic survivor work and trauma-informed practice working with communities of colour and other marginalised and underrepresented groups.

<h3>What Palestine reveals about the politics and racism of British mental health care</h3>Join us as we launch a new research project exploring how Palestinian solidarity is silenced, disciplined or managed in British mental health care. We will share the sensitive and underrepresented stories that demonstrate racism’s presence inside our health care institutions, training spaces and the therapy room – and why we need to clearly see and name it.As we co-create a future with life-affirming health and healing infrastructures, it is our responsibility to witness the harms in our existing systems. This project bridges the interpersonal with the systemic while collapsing the idea of neutral or apolitical care infrastructures. Mental health care is political. We need to re-politicise how antiracism is practiced in our health and healing spaces.Malcolm X (el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz), on distinguishing liberal and conservative racism: "The fox acts friendly towards the lamb... the wolf doesn't act friendly. Their appetite and motives are the same, it's only their mannerism and methods that differ."This research shows how, in our British mental health care systems, anti-racism is being co-opted to offer platitudes where we need politics. Hear from Tarek Younis, the project lead &amp; HJL’s Racial Justice Researcher, and two mental health professionals who have been disciplined for their Palestinian solidarity in mental health, whose names are being protected. He researches and writes on Islamophobia, racism in mental health and the politics of psychology. He teaches on the impact of culture, religion, globalisation, and security policies on mental health. As a registered clinical psychologist, he primarily attends to experiences of racism, Islamophobia, and state violence in his private practice.
