Inspired by the Chilterns’ heritage and museum collections from Amersham and Wycombe Museums, we have a selection of simple arts and crafts activities to educate and entertain all ages - let us bring the museum to you! Suitable for ages 7+Booking required. You will be sent a list of suggested simple materials that you will have to hand around your home. A zoom link will be sent to you before the event.PLEASE NOTE: This session will not be recorded, to protect the privacy of the families and young people attending--We will be focusing on two main themes: Chilterns Chairs – make a miniature chair - which favourite toy will your chair be for?Luxurious Lace – make and decorate a Tudor lace ruff that you can wear.You will be sent a list of suggested materials that you will have to hand around your home. There will be some choice in the activities in case you don’t have all the materials or are unable to print the activity sheets: Making your own chair:<ul><li>A4 paper/ thin card – white or could be a variety of different colours</li><li>Save and collect the following for ‘junk modelling’: cereal packets, tissue boxes, loo rolls and anything else that you fancy crafting with!</li><li>Masking tape/ sticky tape/ glue stick</li><li>Wooden clothes pegs - between 14-18 are needed for each peg chair with the springs taken out and/ or lolly, cocktail sticks</li><li>Glue – ideally wood glue is best if you would like to make the peg chair. Children will need supervision or can use PVA glue (it is better if you leave it out for a few hours so it goes thicker). Alternatively children can use sticky pads/ double-sided tape</li><li>Sheets of newspaper or scrap paper to prevent the glue making a mess!</li><li>Scissors – younger children will need supervision</li><li>Pencils and pens – or even paint!!</li></ul>Tudor lace collar: • String, wool, ribbon• Hole punch• Baking paper or thin/ tracing paperpaper doilies and sequins/ gems if you have them to decorate the Tudor lace collar. Alternatively you can just use colouring pens/ pencils.
