Inclusion Barnet - User Voice Project

A chance for disabled people in Barnet to discuss issues surrounding our rights and how we can work together to influence change

Does the 2021 budget discriminate against disabled people?In March 2020 the government announced a £20 uplift to Universal Credit, and this March it was extended until September. But it doesn&#x27;t apply to people receiving &#x27;legacy&#x27; benefits.Three quarters of those on legacy benefits are disabled people who receive Employment Support Allowance (ESA). With disabled people disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, don&#x27;t we deserve the same support?For the first meeting of our new Disability Rights Forum, we&#x27;re thrilled to be joined by Ella Abraham of the Disability Benefits Consortium and anti-poverty charity Z2K to talk about why the uplift should be extended to legacy benefits and how we can join the campaign.This campaign group will meet quarterly going forward to connect on issues that impact disabled people and make our voices heard.If you have any access requirements in relation to this meeting, please let us know at uservoice@inclusionbarnet.org.uk
