In their new book Unfinished Business, Henry McLeish and Professor James Mitchell dissect the record of the first 25 years of devolution and, ahead of the Scottish elections in 2026, set out their ideas on how to improve Scottish democracy over the coming decade. It examines successes as well as failures but concludes that while Scotland has talked a great game on its “progressive values”, real change has proven to be elusive.They are joined on a panel by Johann Lamont, the former leader of the Scottish Labour party, and Annemarie Ward, CEO of FAVOR UK which represents the voices of communities affected by addiction.Join us from 6:30pm till late on 27 August for what it sure to be a lively, provocative, and challenging debate on the choices Scotland needs to take to get the outcomes it says it wants.
