|Home-Start Greenwich is an independent charity affiliated to Home-start UK that has been offering support and helping families with young children in the Royal Borough of Greenwich for over 25 years.At the heart of our work is the home visiting volunteer support whereby we support families with young children where parenting begins in the home. We do this via a 1:1 Home-Visiting Service, delivered by volunteers offering weekly support to families in their own homes.We have two Ofsted registered nursery settings supporting parents with quality childcare jointly providing 96 places for children 0 to 5 in the Plumstead area.Our services are complemented by our partnership work with Royal Greenwich deliveringchildren centre services from seven settings.

Home-Start Greenwich

Level 1 Certificate in Caring for Children with Citylit - This course is restricted to Greenwich residents only.

This is a knowledge-based qualification that builds your basic knowledge and understanding of the needs of young children. You will learn about child development, how to plan and create activities, monitor, encourage and how to keep children safe and happy. Many learners progress on to Level 2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioner or Reading to a Child (ESB) in September 2021.Wednesdays 21th April -14th July 2021 10am - 3pm (no class on 2.6.21)You will need access to a smartphone or computer with internet access. All applicants will need to attend an informal Zoom interview and complete a short initial assessment. For more information or to register your interest please book your space here and one of our team member will contact you for more details.<h2>Are you eligible for a free place?</h2>You are welcome to join this free course if you have been a resident of the UK or EEA for 3 years and are in receipt of one of the benefits listed below:<ul><li>Universal Credit</li><li>Income Support</li><li>Working Tax Credit</li><li>Council Tax Support</li><li>Housing Benefit</li><li>Employment Support Allowance</li><li>You may also be eligible if you work but earn less than £19,890 a year.</li><li>You will need to provide proof of benefit status and residency at the time of enrolment.</li></ul>
