CEDA is an Exeter based charity working with disabled people of all ages.  In 2013 CEDA received funding from the National Lottery to establish a range of behavioural support services for parents and carers, as well as creating a better network of understanding and support within the local community for behavioural based difficulties and disabilities.Many individuals with behavioural Support needs are isolated and overlooked by community settings and their access to society is limited. BIS-net can help by increasing awareness and understanding within the local community, as well as providing support for parents, carers and those individuals themselves to manage and cope with difficult, challenging or aggressive behaviours.

A webinar covering the subject of relationships for Autistic people with a PDA profile, for parents, professionals and PDAers.

Relationships are a complicated thing for any of us. For an Autistic person, often having to adjust, adapt and change to fit other more prevalent Neuro-types, this complicates things even further due to contrasting perspectives. For the Autistic person with a PDA profile, there can also sometimes exist a contrast between their perspectives and those of the Autistic community around them. In this webinar we will explore the challenges, strengths and ways of supporting Autistic people with a PDA profile around relationships. Your host Sam Harris is the BISnet trainer and manager. He has been supporting Autistic children and young people with a PDA profile and their families for over a decade. In recent years he has been working more and more to support those individuals with friendships, relationships and navigating the social world around them. Sam will be joined by two fantastic guest hosts for this webinar. Harry Thompson &#x27;The PDA Extraordinaire,&#x27; is an Autistic &amp; PDA Writer, Public Speaker, Educator, Advocate &amp; Consultant. He uses his own insight to help guide both parents and professionals towards a deeper understanding and ways of conceptualising approaches to support. His friend and colleague Linara Tyler will also be adding her perspective as a PDA and Autistic and ADHD self-advocate and relationship advisor. During the webinar, Sam will be drawing up a list of guidelines and approaches for parents and professionals supporting Autistic children and young people with a PDA profile, based on the insight given by the other speakers and his own experience of what has been successful in practice.
