Walking Festival of Soundis a transdisciplinary, nomadic event exploring the role of walking through and listening to our everyday surroundings. It combines a number of free events including walking performances, walking seminars, listening sessions, and artist talks which take place in diverse offline and online spaces. Walking Festival of Sound facilitates a meeting point for an international network of practitioners and researchers interested in sound and walking in an expanded context. Through diverse events we explore how walking and listening practices can augment and challenge the way we perceive, mediate, navigate through, and care for our shared environments. In 2019 the festival takes place in two cities, Stockholm and Newcastle. In 2021, the festival moved to Krakow and Edinburgh. In 2022, the event takes place in Seoul and Vancouver.Walking Festival of Sound was founded by Jacek Smolicki and Tim Shaw.

PL /Cecylia Malik i Małgo Grygierczyk z kolektywu Siostry Rzeki wraz z ornitologiem Kazimierzem Walaszem zapraszają na spacer wzdłuż krakowskich rzek. Spacer połączy w sobie praktykę uważnego słuchania pejzażu dźwiękowego charakteryzującego okolice nadrzeczne, historię rzek krakowskich oraz dyskusję na temat ich obecnego stanu. Spacer rozpocznie się pod Kolejowym Klubem Wodnym na ul. Księcia Jozefa tuż przy moście Zwierzynieckim i poprowadzi uczestników przez m.in. Las Łęgowy w Przegorzałach gdzie wraz z Kazimierzem Walaszem uczestnicy będą mieli okazję poznać i posłuchać wielu gatunków wiosennych ptaków. W trakcie spaceru Cecylia Malik opowie o Zwierzynieckich rybach branach, o lajkoniku, który był flisakiem, o szumie rzeki Rudawa oraz zanikającym siedlisku bobrów po tym jak przedsiębiorstwo Wody Polskie wycinając lokalne wierzby zniszczyło ich lokalny ekosystem.Czas i miejsce spotkania:Sobota, 17.04.2021, g.10Kolejowy Klub Wodny, ul. Księcia Józefa 24, KrakówEN /Cecylia Malik and Małgo Grygierczyk from the Siostry Rzeki (River Sisters) collective, together with ornithologist Kazimierz Walasz, invite you to take a walk along Kraków&#x27;s rivers. The walk will combine attentive listening to the soundscape of the riverside area with a discussion on the history of Krakow&#x27;s rivers and their present condition. The walk will start at the Kolejowy Klub Wodny on Ksiecia Józefa Street, next to the Zwierzyniecki Bridge, and will lead participants through the Legowy Forest in Przegorzały, where, together with Kazimierz Walasz, they will have the opportunity to learn about and listen to many species of spring birds. During the walk, Cecylia Malik will talk about fish, the lajkonik (who was a rafter), the hum of the Rudawa river, and the disappearing habitat of beavers after the logging of willows in the area. Autorka wielu projektów artystycznych do ważniejszych należą „365 Drzew” i „6 rzek” Współtwórczyni „Modraszek Kolektyw” – akcji w obronie Krakowskiego Zakrzówka przed zabudową i cyklicznej imprezy na Wiśle „Wodna Masa Krytyczna”. W 2017 zainicjowała akcję „Matki Polki na wyrębie” - przeciwko LEX Szyszko. Należy do Koalicji Ratujmy Rzeki. Jest autorka i liderką ogólnopolskiej kampanii społecznej „Siostry Rzeki”. Autorka filmu dokumentalnego „Raj na ziemi” o miłości pary bezdomnych. Laureatka wielu nagród miedzy innymi Człowieka Polskiej Ekologii za rok 2017 i Nagrody Katarzyny Kobro za 2018. Cecylia Malik łączy sztukę i aktywizm dbając o sens i skuteczność własnych działań, wspólnie z ekspertami z różnych dziedzin, organizuje protesty kreowane, jako happeningi i dzieła sztuki w przestrzeni publicznej. EN /Cecylia Malik is a Kraków native, visual artist and environmental activist. She is an author of many art projects, the most importantly 365 Trees and 6 Rivers. Malik co-founded the Modraszek Kolektyw - an initiative aimed at protecting the Krakow Zakrzówek water reservoir, and the series of events on the Vistula River Wodna Masa Krytyczna (Critical Water Mass). In 2017 she initiated the action Matki Polki na Wyrębie (Polish Mothers on Felling), protesting the mass logging of trees. She belongs to the Koalicja Ratujmy Rzeki (Save the Rivers Coalition). Malik is the author and leader of the nationwide social campaign Siostry Rzeki (River Sisters). She is the author of the documentary film Raj na ziemi (Paradise on Earth) about the love of a homeless couple. Recipient of many awards, including Polish Ecology (2017) and Katarzyna Kobro Award (2018). Cecylia Malik combines art and activism, taking great care of the sense and effectiveness of her own actions. Festiwal prezentuje różnego rodzaju projekty, inicjatywy oraz wykłady, dla których uważne słuchanie przestrzeni wokół nas, z wykorzystaniem technologii jak i bez niej, są główną tematyką czy też metodą pracy i komunikacji. Intencją festiwalu jest stworzenie punktu styku dla międzynarodowej sieci artystów, badaczy i aktywistów zainteresowanych spacerami dźwiękowymi oraz praktyką uważnego słuchania.
