Women in Wartime Conference

The Devil’s Porridge Museum commemorates HM Factory Gretna, the largest munitions factory in the world during the First World War and explores the stories of the Solway Military Coast during the Second World War and beyond. The museum uses artefacts, information panels, film and audio, photographs and oral histories to bring the fascinating history of this Border area to life!

A two day conference featuring a variety of panels and speakers on the theme of women in wartime.

Two day online conference to be hosted by The Devil&#x27;s Porridge Museum on the theme of Women in Wartime. This ticket enables entrance to :-all 6 panels with 24 speakers in total (each speaking for 20 minutes and an opportunity for questions for each panel)-a keynote speech delivered by Professor Angela Woollacott, author of &#x27;On Her Their Lives Depend: Munition Workers in the Great War&#x27;. -a musical performance by Claire Hastings of her folk song &#x27;The Gretna Girls&#x27;A ZOOM LINK WILL BE SENT PRIOR TO THE CONFERENCE.NB This conference will not be shared as a free video on youtube.
