Overview

Learn about meditation in the beautiful surroundings of The Italian Garden in South Devon

Give yourself the gift of calm and book onto one of these workshops. Currently limited to 6 people to allow plenty of personal interaction. No previous experience is necessary.

Meditation can bring long-lasting benefits into our lives; it can help us lower stress, improve focus, reduce brain chatter, increase resilience, gives greater clarity, compassion and a sense of calm. Not only this, it can also help us physically by lowering blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen consumption which results in higher energy levels and better sleep and immunity. It can help us emotionally too; regular meditation can increase grey matter in the brain in the areas relating to emotional regulation, planning, problem solving and learning and memory while decreasing the size of the part of the brain responsible for regulating stress, fear and anxiety. With all these benefits it’s no wonder more and more people are turning to meditation in our increasingly frantic, busy and often worrying world.

In this workshop we’ll look at different types of meditation including guided, movement, metta, mantra, present moment and focused meditation.

As there are currently no facilities at The Italian Garden, you will need to bring a camp chair and a drink and snack. If you have a yoga mat you don’t mind using outdoors you may wish to bring this too, although it isn’t essential. You’ll need to wrap up warm because we will be sitting quite a lot and you’ll want to stay cosy.

This workshop will include a short guided tour of the garden.

‘Vicki is a perfect balance between professional and sensitive. Her explanations were always clear and easy to understand.’

All profits go towards the restoration and planting of the garden.
