We are delighted to welcome Suzy, who will be running a workshop for us in the Barn at Trelissick Gardens. It will be a day of creative exploration in monoprinting, celebrating the beauty of nature through expressive printmaking. This workshop is open to all abilities and offers a encouraging and experimental space to experiment, observe and create.
The day will begin with some gentle drawing exercises to get to know the ink and the process, we will wander around the surrounding landscape to gather inspiration. Then working directly with plants and foliage, we will explore the process of Botanical monoprinting, noticing the fine details often missed in everyday life. This simple but powerful technique allows us to create one-of-a-kind prints that reflect nature as it is, almost like taking its fingerprint.
In the afternoon, we will focus on printing onto fabric, using the skills developed earlier in the day to create a personal and practical outcome. You will have the chance to print your own tote bag to take home in a celebration of your creative work.
With over fifteen years of teaching experience, including working as a lecturer in art and design in higher education, Suzy creates a supportive environment where individuals are encouraged to develop their own creative voice. Whether you are just beginning your creative journey or are looking to extend your existing practice, this workshop offers a thoughtful and inspiring space.
This workshop includes lunch in the lovely National Trust run Crofters Cafe. Please inform us in advance of any allergies or dietary requirements, we need to be aware of. Whilst we do our best, we can't guarantee that any other dishes are totally allergen free.
