The Improv Place Intensive

A two-week online improvisation intensive. 50 hours of training with world-class teachers plus daily shows and entertainment.

DescriptionDates: 2nd-13th August 2021Cost: £750The Improv Place Intensive brings you 50 hours of world-class improv training in just two weeks. You will go deep into the longform experience, working with one team the whole time and honing your personal improv craft.The classes offer warm-ups, scene reps, forms, notes and side-coaching to help you become the best improviser you can be. You will spend one week of mornings (BST) with Katy Schutte and one week of mornings with Chris Mead. The rest of your class time will be spent with ten world-class teachers to broaden your style and skill bases.Places are limited to 14 students (please join the waiting list if the intensive is sold out).Cost:Tickets are £750. Book your place now with a non-refundable deposit of £100. Study from home, but still get world-class improv training with all the perks of watching shows, hanging out and building community.Why an intensive?Co-founder/teachers Katy Schutte and Chris Mead found intensives to be an essential part of their improv training. Since 2005, they have been collecting intensives: training with IO Chicago, Second City Chicago, PGraph and The Annoyance (to name but a few) as well as spending over 15 years running Intensives and Retreats with The Maydays and travelling globally to perform and teach at festivals in 20+ countries. ScholarshipsThere is a scholarship programme for the intensive. Limited full and half-scholarship places are available.
