Teaching Assistants supporting students in secondary science
1 day course for teaching assistants without a science background in secondary settings
A 1 day course designed and delivered by The SpLD outreach service and The Science Hub in partnership, for TAs without a science background. This research informed course is a perfect blend of discussion and hands on activities to support teaching assistance in their vital role in secondary science lessons.
Learning outcomes:
- To consider role of the teaching assistant in supporting the teacher effectively
- To gain strategies to support the needs of a variety of learners in science
- To improve confidence in subject knowledge
- To have a better understanding of how to support learners during practical work.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
