Workshop 2 @ 7pm on Thursday 13th May: Instagram for Business Instagram, if used in the right way, can be a powerful (and affordable) marketing tool for your business. We’ll explore Search Engine Optimisation, Google Ads, Reviews and how to measure your success.Learn the key principles of digital marketing and how develop results-focused essential skills using the right tools. From identifying the right channel to evaluating campaign performanceMeet the Trainer: Stephen Whitelaw, CEO, Orthic ConsultingIn 1988 Stephen Whitelaw founded Buchanan International Inc in Silicon Valley and 10 years later spun out Act is Technology Ltd. He has a proven track record of managing and growing technology businesses through strong financial and personnel management skills and has often been described as a rebel without a pause!His highly energetic nature and deep knowledge of the internet has enabled him to travel the world engaging with companies large and small offering consultancy and training on many of the web technologies affecting so many businesses today.Workshop 4 @ Thursday 27 May: Dare to Ask: Edinburgh Entrepreneurs To end our Boost your Business Workshop series with a bang, we’re excited to bring you two fantastic local entrepreneurs to share their unique stories with us. We’ll explore the good, the bad, and the ugly - getting into the nitty gritty what running a business is really like, and taking the opportunity to share honest, authentic experiences. At this informal event, you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and take part in a fun and lively discussion. Drinks welcome! Meet our Panel:Gil Lalli, Solution Focused Therapist, Empty your Stress BucketGin Lalli is a solution focused therapist, specialising in stress and anxiety, but was previously an optometrist and has worked for herself for over 20 years.Marketing a service is never as easy as marketing a product but Gin does this successfully and with personality too. If you follow her on social media, you’ll know all about her stress bucket and her polar bear! Gin is keen to share her knowledge on everything she has learned on how to manage your work-life balance so that you can achieve all your goals. She is a trailblazer in breaking down barriers of what it really means to be self-employed, in particular regarding women of colour.Naish Yadav, Founder, Moment One.Naish Yadav is a young purpose-driven entrepreneur who strives to create innovative solutions for the next generation of business and community. He truly believes that we can all create a better future for ourselves and our community through co-creation and empathy. He&#x27;s the founder of Moment One, which is a digital behavioural health start-up that focuses on helping users build resilience and self-awareness. Additionally, he&#x27;s also the co-founder of Wee Jobs, which is an emotional intelligence-based digital recruitment start-up.Kirsty Peebles, Managing Director, NewsDirectKirsty Peebles started Newsdirect in her 20s as a sitting room start-up, providing political news and research on a subscription model. At the time, political monitoring in Scotland was exclusively provided by consultant lobbying firms and Newsdirect disrupted this arrangement to become one of the UK’s leading providers. The company now employs 20 people in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, all of whom are currently working remotely. Kirsty is also co-director of a book design company, Biblichor Ltd, and a member of the Federation of Small Businesses Scottish Policy Unit. Before her adventures in the world of politics, Kirsty studied music and worked variously as a florist, theatre administrator, office temp, media monitor, evidence clerk at the High Court, bartender and church organist. She lives in the Scottish Borders with her partner and son.
