Join fellow illustrators for a morning of sketching leading up to an afternoon event: the Children’s Publishing Picnic.

The next meet-up for London-based (or visiting!) illustrators is officially scheduled and EVERYONE is welcome!Join us on Saturday, 16th August, from 10:30 to 13:00 at the Waterside Café in Regent’s Park –with the option to stay on until 17:00 to join the Children’s Publishing Picnic run by Steven Lenton.About the Location: Regent’s Park is one of London’s Royal Parks, known for its formal gardens, open spaces, and diverse wildlife habitats. It features Queen Mary’s Gardens with its famous rose collection, an open-air theatre, and London Zoo. The park also offers boating, sports facilities, and picturesque scenery – the perfect setting for a morning of sketching!What’s Happening: After our morning of sketching, you’re welcome to join us for another event: <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DLM6KTwKrH5/?hl=en" title="https://www.instagram.com/p/DLM6KTwKrH5/?hl=en" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">the Children’s Publishing Picnic</a>, organised by the wonderful Steven Lenton! This is a great opportunity to meet even more illustrators and take part in a children’s book swap: bring your own book, pop it into a bag, and blindly pick another to take home! <h3>What to Expect</h3>10:30 AM: Meet at the Waterside Café in Regent’s Park for a friendly meet-and-greet.11:00 AM: Disperse for sketching! You can choose from several options:<ol><li>Stay by the lake, where it’s cooler and more shaded.</li><li>Sketch some action! There’s a football club near the café that often hosts informal games on Saturdays. If a match is on, feel free to sketch players in motion from the sidelines!</li></ol>12:50 PM: Regroup at the Waterside Café for a quick wrap-up. Then, for anyone interested, we’ll head over to the Children’s Publishing Picnic – about a 10-minute walk from the lake.<h3>What to Bring</h3><ul><li>Your sketchbooks, paints, tablets – anything and everything is welcome!</li><li>All skill levels are encouraged to join – from hobbyists to seasoned illustrators.
