Newham Heritage Month 2025

Newham Heritage Month is an annual heritage festival organised by Newham Council with kind support from National Lottery Heritage Fund. In 2025, the festival will take place in September 2025 with a programme of events on the theme of 'Newham at 60'.

Thousands of items dating back several centuries are held at Newham Archives &amp; Local Studies Library. Join borough archivist Jess Conway for an intimate tour of the collections, taking in everything from the reading room to the temperature controlled strong room.As well as learning how the archive works, you will have the chance to view a wide range of material relating to Newham’s artistic and creative history including photographs, objects, pamphlets, maps and local newspapers.Upon arrival at Stratford Library, head up to the first floor where the entrance to the reading room is located. Please speak to library staff should you require assistance in locating the room.
