Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals raises money to support NHS patients in our City.

Join us for our first swimming challenge and raise money for your local NHS hospitals. All ages and swimming abilities are welcome.

Swim a fixed distance on your own or in a team, or commit to swim on a regular basis, whatever stroke you like – fast or slow. You&#x27;ll be sure to have fun and connect with other swimmers, as well as improve your fitness and swimming ability, all for a good cause. To sign up follow these simple steps: 1.	Decide on a sea swim challenge (this can be anything from a regular dip to swimming a fixed distance over time or on one day) 2.	Buy a ticket on Eventbrite and complete our event registration form (this will be sent to you by email after you sign up here)3.	Create a Justgiving page and select FBHH Sea Swimming Challenge 2021 as your event4.	Ask your friends and family to sponsor you!5.	Complete your challenge by 31 October 2021Share pictures or videos of your challenge on social media using the hashtag #FBHHseaswimmingchallengeFAQs What sort of challenge can I choose?Take part in the Outdoor Swimming Society’s Couch to 5K swimming programme. This would suit experienced swimmers who can manage 30 minutes swimming in a pool and have time to commit to a serious training plan and a final swim of up to 2.5 hours. https://www.outdoorswimmingsociety.com/the-oss-couch-to-5kSwim between Brighton’s two piers or take part in the iconic Pier to Pier race with Brighton Swimming Club (registration is required and places are limited). It would suit experienced swimmers who want to push themselves to compete against regular sea swimmers. https://brightonpier2pier.comCommit to swim daily/weekly for a month or more. You can clock up your distance by working out your swimming pace eg. 1 kilometre every 15 mins. This would suit most swimming abilities and one for the kids as well. Get a team together and give yourselves a target to swim collectively, like the distance of the English Channel (approx 21 miles).Need some help or new to sea-swimming? Our partners, Ocean Set, offer a range of group and 1-2-1 training sessions with professional swimming coaches. They are offering participants 50% discount on 1-2-1 training.https://www.oceanset.co.ukWhat does it cost? Adults (team or individual) : £20 entry fee per person and f £100.00 sponsorship target. I accept the terms and conditions (below) for participation in this event on behalf of the entrant and declare them as capable of completing the distance they have nominated. TERMS &amp; CONDITIONS 1.	Entrants declare that they are physically fit and capable of participating in this event and completing the distance they have nominated. They are not aware of any medical condition or impairment that will prevent participation in this event or will affect their health by participation.2.	Entrants acknowledge that this is a virtual swim and that the organisers will not track or verify results or provide volunteers, marshals or medical personnel assistance to any entrant.3.	Entrants consent to royalty-free use of their name, result, photographs, video and comments in any publications and marketing in relation to this event by the event organisers. You further consent to receiving information about future events and updates from Friends of Brighton &amp; Hove Hospitals.4.	Entry is only valid for the person whose details are entered on Eventbrite and is not transferable.5.	By agreeing to these terms and conditions, entrants release event organisers, from all claims connected with participation. Entrants indemnify the event organiser, sponsors, volunteers, and employees involved in this event directly or indirectly against all liability for any and all injury, loss or damage connected with the entrant’s participation.6.	For an entry to be valid, entrants must complete the entry form, and pay the required entry fee prior to the commencement of the event.7.	By entering this event, entrants consent to their personal information being used for media publication and announcement of results unless they specifically opt out at the time of registration.8.	Entrants accept that participation in this event is at their own risk and they accept that participating in this event may involve real risk of injury or death.9.	Entrants acknowledge they will participate and complete their nominated distances in a manner chosen by them, at locations chosen by them and at their own risk.10.
