This Community of Practice (CoP) is provided by NIROMP  for all  Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs)  and IRO Managers.

<p><strong>Our next CoP will be held via M-Teams on 14th July 2021, 9:30 - 11:00 with a focus on emergent themes from Safeguarding Pressures research and implications for IRO practice.  More information:  </strong><a href="https://niromp.org/community-of-practice/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><strong>HERE</strong></a></p><h3>Benefits of attending this session</h3><p>•	Hear direct from Carole Brooks, author of the ADCS ‘Safeguarding Pressures’ research since 2010. Carole is also an Independent Adviser, leading improvement projects, research and evaluation and leadership development. </p><p>•	We’ll consider the societal determinants, system factors and the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on children and families, IROs and wider services including the drivers behind presenting factors, and the effects on children and young people now, and into adulthood. </p><p>•	Discussion will explore the impact of these factors on the lived experiences and readiness of our children and young people for adulthood, sharing insights and creating new knowledge to advance professional practice. </p><p>•	Our CoP programme supports our strong emphasis on leadership by the community of IROs, learning from each other and sharing what works. This session will give emphasis to actions needed to stem the spiralling factors contributing to poor outcomes for children, young people and families and the ‘adaptive challenge’ this demands from the whole system including IROs.</p><h3>Preparation and joining instructions</h3><p><strong>Preparatory reading: </strong>Participants are expected to read the following report <a href="https://adcs.org.uk/assets/documentation/ADCS_Safeguarding_Pressures_Phase7_Executive_Summary.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Executive Summary SAFEGUARDING PRESSURES PHASE 7 </a>which will assist with small group discussion. Further details will be shared ahead the event.  </p><p><strong>Accessing the session: </strong>This session will run using Microsoft Teams. You will be emailed a link with relevant joining instructions and a session outline nearer the time. </p><p><strong>Other important information:</strong> This session will be recorded.
