A talk to consider building a more positive future for people with dyslexia in education and work.

In this talk, the CEO of the British Dyslexia Association will explore the charity’s evolving strategy and its potential impact for dyslexic people of all ages, and for all of us. Despite growing recognition of neurodiversity, there are many obstructions for those who think differently. To build a more positive future, we need to rethink our approach to education and work. Dyslexia-friendly schools and workplaces not only unleash the talents of the 1 in 10 people with dyslexia, they offer a more welcoming environment for everyone. Stepping outside the box sparks innovation and creativity that can power a new future. This event is free but please consider a donation of £5 if you can. Any proceeds will be split equally between the British Dyslexia Association and Bell House. Thank you.

About the speaker:Nick Posford is CEO of the British Dyslexia Association, the national charity for everyone with dyslexia. Nick is passionate about changing perceptions of dyslexia, so that the benefits of thinking differently are recognised and valued across education and society. Nick is leading the organisation’s strategy to ensure nobody is left behind and neurodiversity in all its forms is supported and encouraged.Nick has worked across the voluntary, public and private sectors for two decades and previously was CEO of CICRA, a charity for children with inflammatory bowel disease, where he developed a family support service, created a program on increasing confidence in children with bowel disease, and helped develop new standards to drive improvements in care. Nick has also been a trustee of Citizens Advice and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
