<h3>About This Webinar</h3>Join us for our Lunch Time Vault Webinar and Q&amp;A to learn about how to create safe spaces for Black Children and Young People in Care.Black we define as a Child and Young Person whose Ethnic Origin is either African, Caribbean including Mixed Race with African or Caribbean Heritage.The Care Experience, we define as being in Foster Care or in a Residential Children's Home.The Children and Social Work Act 2017 Corporate Parenting Principles states that EVERYONE from the Chief Executive down to front line staff, as well as elected council members, are (to be) concerned about those children and care leavers as if they were their own and EVERYONE from the Chief Executive down to front line staff must do all that is reasonably possible to ensure the Council is the ‘best parent’ it can be to the child or young person.One of the seven Corporate Parenting Principles states that the Corporate Parent must ensure the child or young person is safe and protected from harm.With that in mind, from the inception of The Black Care Experience, we’ve heard countless stories from the Care Experienced of how they felt unseen, unheard, misunderstood, unsafe and not protected on their journey through the Care System. Internalising their experiences whilst in the Care System, now Adults, some have been able to find a safe space to unpack their trauma and heal.But what about the current Black and In Care Generation? How can the Corporate Parents and The Village change this trajectory for them and create a much needed safe space for them to be seen, heard, understood, kept safe and protected from harm as they journey through the Care System?Come along to this Webinar and hear how.
