This face to face workshop will focus on ways to respond to our Diocesan Environment Policy and offer support and practical information for schools/parishes/ workplaces/parishioners who might be interested in exploring the Live Simply Award.All staff in schools and parishes are welcome- governors, support staff, parish priests, parishioners and secretaries or anyone who might like to hear a bit more information about how the award can be achieved.

The livesimply award is an opportunity for Catholic communities - parishes, schools, religious orders and chaplaincies - to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation in Laudato Si' to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us”.What is the livesimply award?It is awarded to communities who can show how they have been living:• simply• in solidarity with people in poverty• sustainably with creation.Some livesimply award communities have encouraged people to walk or cycle to church or school, install solar panels, start recycling schemes, join a climate change campaign, support Fairtrade stalls or donate to a local food bank. The award celebrates what you have already done and inspires you to do more. It helps your community to live, not just more simply, but also more fully.

There will be a presentation for parishes, schools and groups who are interested in participating in CAFOD&#x27;s livesimply scheme. Everything you need to know to get your parish, school, chaplaincy or religious community to live more simply, sustainably and in solidarity with people in poverty - and to start your journey towards achieving a livesimply award.We are extremely pleased to welcome Rt Rev. Dom David Charlesworth who has kindly agreed to speak to us about How Green Is My Abbey.The day will include examples and ideas from livesimply award communities in our own diocese and others, including Fr Jonathan Stewart from Blessed Sacrament Parish in Exeter and Nicola Slack Headteacher at St Mary&#x27;s Catholic Primary School ,Buckfast. We are also delighted to be able to welcome Marie Elena Arana and Bethany Friery from Cafod who will explain more about the award and help any interested groups who wish to register for the award on the day.

Covid Guidance for Our Day ( this information will also be sent via email nearer the time)We will do everything we can to reduce the risk of Covid at our event . We will put the following measures in place-	There will be hand sanitiser and wipes available in the conference room-	Windows and doors will be open where possible to allow for maximum ventilation (so please make sure you have enough warm clothing)-	We are restricting numbers attending to ensure that there is plenty of space and people are not crowded together-	We will follow all Public Health guidance in place at the time of the eventWhat we ask of you:If you have symptoms of COVID-19 – high temperature, loss of sense of smell or taste, or persistent cough – please isolate and then book yourself a PCR test. Don’t come to the event if you have symptoms. We encourage everyone to kindly use a lateral flow test before and after the event. Please wash your hands regularly and follow good hygiene practices. The wearing of face coverings is, of course, no longer compulsory, but people may wish to use them in the main meeting room and when moving around the hotel unless you are exempt. Please allow the hotel staff to serve the teas, coffees, lunch etc as this will keep us all safer. Overflow parking is available at the far end of the Livermead House Hotel should this be necessary. Please use the pedestrian gate at the bottom end of car park towards the event venue to access the short walk to the Livermead Cliff Hotel, as this will save you time and energy. Thank you.
