MSK Group Mentoring Course for Healthcare Professionals | 
Module 1 Shoulder (4 hours CPD)

A thorough, virtual, mentoring course which enables you to build on your anatomical knowledge and sonography skills week by week, joint by joint. Each module will include three or four weekly sessions covering the ultrasonography of an anatomical area in detail, giving you time to practice in between. The sessions will include pre-recorded practical demonstrations and detailed instruction - you can scan while you watch, improving your skills and confidence. The recordings will be available for you to watch as many times as you like. At the end of the module a live Q&amp;A will be held to answer any questions and repeat any live demonstrations as required. We recommend as much practice between each weekly session to maximise your learning experience.

Module One - Shoulder<h3>NOTE - All recordings available to watch any time from the date of release. Please note the Q&amp;A session will be live.</h3>WEEK 1: ACJ, Supraspinatus and infraspinatus (Released Monday 31st May - 1.00 pm)WEEK 2: Subscapularis and biceps tendon (Released Monday 7th June - 1.00 pm) WEEK 3: GHJ and Teres minor (Released Monday 14th June - 1.00 pm)WEEK 4: Q&amp;A (Live Wednesday 23rd June - 8.00 pm)Each session will involve:3D anatomy: A thorough understanding of anatomy and its relationship to the ultrasound image is essential to develop your skills as a sonographer. That is why we have included an annual subscription to an online 3D anatomy tool and include the 3D anatomy images alongside the real-time ultrasound image during the course to enable clear interpretation of the anatomical landmarks.Image optimization: An essential component of sonography, image optimization will be taught throughout the course. You will gain a thorough understanding of how to fine tune the image for each anatomical structure using the focus, gain, frequency, depth controls. Adrian will also discuss common errors made, artefacts and the effect of each on image quality.Identifying anatomy: To ensure you gain a thorough understanding of the relevant anatomy, Adrian will freeze images, and identify and label the significant landmarks. As part of the course assessment, you will be invited to submit similar images to Adrian each week.Pathology: Common pathologies of the area will be covered so you will feel confident identifying the ultrasonographic appearance of normal and abnormal anatomy.Homework and Assessment: Participants will be invited to submit selected images to Adrian at the end of the session as part of the course assessment. He will report on image optimization and accuracy of anatomical labelling each week. A certificate of attendance will be provided at the end of the module which will be eligible for CPD points.
