Local author S P Caldwell will talk about Wigan borough locations and scenes featured in his two crime thrillers!

Leigh Library

Wigan-based author SP Caldwell will take us through the locations in Wigan and the surrounding areas which feature in his crime thrillers The Beast of Bethulia Park (Gracewing 2022) and Lady Mabel’s Gold (Gracewing 2025).Caldwell will talk about his scenes at such famous places as Wigan Pier and Haydock Racecourse in The Beast of Bethulia Park, and Haigh Woodland Park and Wigan Parish Church in Lady Mabel’s Gold. He will also reveal other Wigan locations which went unnamed in his stories but which provided the settings for some of the action.Your ticket also includes a fish and chip supper to be enjoyed after the talk. Copies of both books will be available for purchase.
