NOTE - THIS EVENTBRIGHT PAGE IS FOR THE 2 HOUR MACKEREL FISHING BOAT TRIPS LEAVING FROM SPARKS MARINA - HAYLING ISLAND - There will be two boats which can take out a maximum of 6 people (each child must be accompanied by a parent – lifejackets will be provided) Come and try fishing at our quality assured angling events and discover the wonders of angling! Whether you’re fishing for the first time, heading out for a day out with the family, or getting back into angling, fishing is a great way to get out there doing something different and will teach kids new outdoor skills.About the Event:FAMILY FISHINGThe Angling Trust is teaming up with local anglers on the south coast to provide opportunities for kids and families to learn more about angling, how to get started and why it is such a great sport.At these Fishing Activity Day kids and families can enjoy the seaside environment, learn the right tackle and techniques to catch fish with qualified and licenced angling coaches and have a go at mackerel fishing on board the well-equipped charter boats.As well as some brilliant FREE sea fishing opportunities everyone will find out about how vital marine conservation is – the special activities to learn all about why our coast is so important include: beach safaris, crab fishing, line recycling and by becoming part of our ‘Just Take 5’ campaign to reduce coastal litter!Learn about sea angling•Explore the marine environment•Angling Trust qualified and licenced coaches•Mackerel fishing on a registered charter boat•Tackle and bait providedADVANCE BOOKING ONLY What happens on the day: The angling activities on offer are designed to encourage adults, children and young people to discover what angling is all about and take up angling. You’ll find out how to use fishing rods, reels, line and tackle to catch fish and return them safely. Get Fishing Volunteers will be on hand to help, give fishing tips and provide you with more info about your local club or fishery so you know how to go fishing again next time.Booking: Simply select from one of the time slots to book your place. Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the start of your session. Tackle: Tackle, and everything else to catch a fish will be provided on the day. No need to bring any equipment.Do I need to bring anything with me…? Outdoor events are weather dependent so please bring something to keep you dry and/or sunblock and a drink.Disability information: Volunteers and coaches at Get Fishing events are provided with essential best practice guidance on working with and planning events for disabled and mobility impaired people. Please check with the venue contact about the facilities available.Covid-19 Guidelines: If you have Covid-19 symptoms, please do not attend. Only pre-booked attendees can attend this event. Social distancing measures will be in place and all equipment will be cleaned in between sessions, following the best practice guidelines set out by the <a href="https://anglingtrust.net/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Angling Trust</a>. They are funded by Sport England, Angling Direct and the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/environment-agency" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Environment Agency</a> from fishing licence income.
