Help us shape the future of our Open Venues programme

Open Venues Consultation (Dance)Wednesday 14 July, 1 pmOnlineFREEAbout Open VenuesSet up by Brighton Artists Network members, Open Venues is an initiative encouraging venue-based arts and cultural organisations to provide their spaces free of charge to local artists for meetings, rehearsals and other professional and creative development opportunities. Participating venues donate time-slots available in between existing bookings and programmed activities, which can be booked by artists via Brighton Artists Network. The initiative has been running since August 2020 and is currently taking place at Fabrica and Brighton Dome. The visionWe think Brighton has the potential to become the best place in the UK for artists to live and work in. Our long term vision is to expand Open Venues to 4 more venues in Brighton and develop its scope to create a network of venues supporting artist development and creative production in the city. We think that besides access to space, venues could pool equipment, technical support and expertise, share resources and costs, and jointly fundraise to support the creation of new work. About this eventWe are running 3 consultations this summer with visual and performing artists. We want to hear your views and ideas about our vision for Open Venues and find out more about your needs. This session is for dancers only. What kind of support do you need from Brighton's cultural organisations? How do you think existing infrastructure and resources could best help you develop your practice?About Brighton Artists Network:Brighton Artists Network is Brighton’s first interdisciplinary, artist-led network.
