During this one day workshop you will: <ul><li>Receive an explanation of relief printing and look at some examples</li><li>Learn how to create a design for a bunting flag and transfer it to soft cut lino</li><li>Learn how to carve your design safely using lino cutting tools</li><li>Print your design using Cranfield, Caligo Safewash printing inks and a Rollaco printing press</li></ul>What experience will I need?This workshop is suitable for adults who are complete beginners or those wishing to refresh their skillsDo I need any materials?Printing can be messy, so it is advisable that you wear old clothes and an apron is recommended. You may like to bring some inspiring photos or sketches to help you create your design. All other materials including bunting, ribbons, printing inks, soft lino, tools and printing press will be provided.Lunch is not provided, so you may like to bring a packed-lunch or snack.TutorMaria graduated from Kent Institute of Art and Design in 1992 after gaining a BA Hons Degree in Communication Media. She has completed the Advanced Certificate in Printmaking at Curwen Study Press, Cambridge and more recently certificates in Arts Management and Digital Image Making at Central St Martins. Maria has been a Fellow at the Digswell Arts Trust since September 2019.Maria lives and works as an artist near the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire border, delivering print workshops and lecturing Art and Design at a local college. She also produces contemporary, hand-made cards and other original printed paper-based goods under the name ‘Coded Storm’. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/codedstorm.co.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Webpage - Coded Storm</a> Social DistancingThis is a small workshop with a maximum of 6 participants, allowing ample space for social distancing. All current government guidelines will be adhered to and the Eco-Hub&#x27;s Covid Procedures. This will mean; ensuring appropriate preventative measures are in place during the workshop, including the provision of anti-bacterial hand wash soap, hand-sanitiser gel and tissues for everyone to use. As from 19th July 2021, there is no longer a legal requirement to wear face coverings in indoor settings and therefore the wearing of face masks will be optional.Terms and Conditions Full payment of the course fee is required when booking a place. If for any reason you are unable to attend, you will be refunded minus the Eventbrite (non-refundable) administration fee , as long as you cancel your place more than 30 days before the course start date. Should Covid restrictions prevent the course from running, a full refund will also be issued. Tutor and organiser, Maria Merridan reserves the right to cancel workshops – a full refund will be made in these circumstances minus the (non-refundable) Eventbrite administration fee.
