Beginning physical computing with Scratch.

Learn how to control the GPIO pins on the Raspberry Pi from Scratch and program a traffic light sequence.

Workshop 2 - 2:45 - 3:45 - Andy Baalam

Physical computing with Python.

Learn how to control the GPIO pins on the Raspberry Pi from Python with the GPIOZero library and program a traffic light sequence.

To sign up for a workshop register first and then the Google Form giving details of which Workshops you wish to attend, number of attendees and a contact name for use on the day. It is essential that you are registered to attend before signing up for the workshops.

There are 7 workstations so if more than 7 request to attend a workshop we will do pair programming to allow as many people as possible to attend the workshops.

The Egham Raspberry Jam is primarily a Show and Tell event where people bring along their projects for you to try out and share how they made them so others can learn and be inspired to make their own or an adaptation.

So, if you have a project you want the world to see bring it along. Or, if you are looking for inspiration again, come along and have a chat.

In the past there have been:

• Scalextric controlled from Scratch
• Lots and lots of remote control bots. Some that shot missiles (toy), some with remote viewing.
• 3D Printing.
• SenseHat games
• Arcade emulation
• Robot Arms
• Programming tutorials
• Fun with Minecraft

Additional Information:

Pre registration required (it's free).

Ages 8 and over.

Under 16s need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Come see and learn about robotics, programming, electronics, development, creativity.

Other Information

No Soldering onsite.

There will be no internet access but a wireless router will be setup to allow connecting to local devices.

If you need Internet access then you will have to either tether to a phone or use a mifi type device.

If bringing a project to show please bring a power extension lead as the sockets are in funny places.
