There are opportunities to either PARTICIPATE or OBSERVE this excavation. We have spaces for 10 participants and 10 observers each day. You do not need to attend both days.Abbey Cwmhir Heritage Trust is leading an excavation at Cwmffwrn Farm in the Home Grange of Cwmhir Abbey Radnorshire, with support and supervision by Dr Jemma Bezant of University of Wales Trinity St David.The site has evidence of a range of features with possible medieval origins.We will have Open Days on 24th/25th July and we invite the public to either participate or observe this excavation.Attendees will learn about the process of archaeological excavation, identify finds and learn their significance, and be part of the interpretation of the site and it’s early occupation.Attendees will receive a detailed information pack prior to the event. Please note that young people (under-18s) and vulnerable adults will be able to observe this excavation, but they will need to be accompanied.This excavation has been made possible by grants from Wales Council for Voluntary Action and Localgiving with Postcode Community Trust.For further information contact: Mel at history.cwmhirabbey@gmail.com
