South East and Central Essex Mind provides mental health support across Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford, Rochford, Castle Point and South Woodham Ferrers. We offer supported housing, counselling services, wellbeing mentoring for young people and signposting for anyone who needs it. We are also a provider of mental health training, education and professional services to schools, businesses and fellow charities in our area.We have a track record of over 50 years of delivering quality mental health services in the area. Although affiliated to national Mind, we are an independent organisation and charity and are responsible for our own funding mental health services in the South East and Central Essex region. Our vision is of a society that promotes and protects good mental health for all and that treats everyone experiencing mental health problems fairly, positively and with respect.

Join us  for an early morning  2hr session with Ruth of Forest Clouds Nature Therapy.

Belfairs Woods

This session is being run in the hope of helping those who have been experiencing poor mental health during the pandemic and are looking to improve their wellbeing.We are asking for £10 per person for this session - Your contribution will go towards covering the cost of running the event, allow us to hold more in the future and also help support our charity&#x27;s vital local mental health services. Thank you.&quot;Shinrin-Yoku&quot; or forest bathing is the practice of spending time in the forest for better health, happiness and a sense of calm. It literally means to bathe in the atmosphere of the forest, immersing your senses in your surroundings. Research has proven that spending time around trees can reduce blood pressure, lower stress, boost energy and boost the immune system. During this session our experienced guide Ruth will invite you to participate in various activities and exercises all designed to awaken your natural senses and slow down your mind, to bring your awareness to the here and now deep within nature. There is good evidence to suggest that, as well as improving physical health, regular exercise and meditation can boost your mood, help beat stress and even reduce risk of depression. This event will be run safely and according to government guidelines - numbers are limited so please reserve your place asap to avoid disappointment.South East and Central Essex Mind is your local mental health charity covering Castle Point, Chelmsford, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and South Woodam Ferrers. Although affiliated to national Mind, we are an independent organisation and separately registered charity, and are responsible for funding our local mental health services and events.This session is for adults only, and will adhere to covid safe policies with distancing in place and all activities taking place outside.Please ensure you wear warm comfortable clothing and footwear, this is a slow walk and can get colder than on a normal pace walk if the weather is cold or wet. Layers are a good idea and bring waterproofs/wellies if rain is likely. The session will still go ahead in rain, but if high winds are forecast we may have to rearrange.
