Motion Sickness takes its turn hosting the lecture series ‘Don’t Worry I’m Sick and Poor’ for a single event that will be broadcast live via Zoom, with a live screening at the Motion Sickness space. ‘Don’t Worry I’m Sick and Poor’ is a lecture series created and organised by artists and facilitators Ellie Harman-Taylor, Ashleigh Williams and Ingrid Banerjee-Marvin (Babeworld) as an essential and accessible alternative to institutional art education. This particular iteration will platform founder Ellie Harman-Taylor, who will discuss how they navigate the art world being disabled.&quot;London based multidisciplinary artist Ellie Harman-Taylor (also making work under the name Whinegums) who is also part of Babeworld, graduated from Central Saint Martins with a BA in Fine Art and has since worked with the likes of Schuh, The ICA and has exhibited around the UK and Europe. Harman-Taylor’s practice explores the world as a neurodivergent disabled person in today’s society and opens up her brain to connect with others in her community and also to shine a light on neurodiversity within the arts and how fine art, comedy and community can all intertwine. Alongside her artistic practice she founded the ‘Don’t Worry I’m Sick and Poor’ lecture series in collaboration with Babeworld, originally held at the Royal College of Art and has since also been developed with the ICA. &quot;From the corner of a studio space- three artists, disgruntled with their collective curriculums offerings created a new dialogue, born from the lack of diversity in art education. ‘Don&#x27;t Worry I’m Sick and Poor’ is a lecture series that was created as an essential alternative within art education. Artists are invited to give lectures based on their experiences of the art world - whether that’s in the form of a love letter to your nan, the complexities of pricing up meal deals at tesco during your degree, or your aversion to eggs. Attend these lectures to discover how to finesse the system - from one marginalised person to another. You will be sent a zoom link upon signing up. Please read the etiquette before joining.
