It tells the story both of the development of the town, from the Middle Ages to the modern day, and of the remarkable story of SIr Archibald McIndoe a pioneering plastic surgeon and the air men who's lives he saved during the Second World War.It hosts a variety of engaging events from local history talks to children's activities, exhibitions and many other things besides.

An informal but informative history of smuggling in England from the late 13th century to the end of the ‘Golden Age’ in Kent and Sussex in the mid-19th century. A tale of owlers and flaskers, cats and dogs, vast quantities of gin and a nice cup of tea.About the SpeakerAntony Smith is the Custodian of the Priest House, West Hoathly.The talk will take place at East Grinstead Museum. It will follow current government guidance on the COVID 19 Pandemic to limit the spread of the virus.
