We are planning to be "messing about in the river!" Learn about the wildlife life living in this shallow brook. We will explore the brook and discover what is living in there; includes paddling and dipping. Learn to identify the creatures and discover how we can protect and care for them in the future. (For me, this is what every childhood should be made of!)Designed for nature lovers aged 7 to 11 with an accompanying adult. (no unaccompanied children)The event is subsidised by Harrow Parks Forum so we are able to offer it to you at a very reasonable £4/person. Please book a place for yourself as well as your child as, to ensure your safety and follow Local Government advice, we are restricting numbers to a maximum of 15 people. Book your place fast to avoid disappointment. Please meet us at the Wooden bridge close to the entrance on Suffolk Road, North Harrow. The closest postcode is HA2 7QG. Walk down the main path opposite the orchard to the wooden bridge. What3words location: ///tend.repay.scarcelyWe are Covid aware and will be taking precautions to minimise any risk. We ask you to bring a rug or mat to sit on. Please look after yourselves and, where possible, stay 2m apart and remain sensitive to the needs of others who may be more vulnerable. As we are outdoors we do not need to wear a mask but feel free to wear one if this will make you feel safe. We would really appreciate it if you could take a lateral flow test to confirm that you are free of the virus before you arrive, just as you would for school. You will need: <ul><li>To be agile and strong enough to climb up the bank and underneath branches.</li><li>A rug or mat to sit on</li><li>Warm and waterproof clothes, we will be outdoors for the whole session</li><li>Wellingtons or sturdy shoes, that you don't mind if they get wet and muddy, as we will be stepping into the brook. </li><li>Wear long trousers and sleeves to avoid getting scratched by plants or stinging nettles.</li><li>Your Harrow Nature Heroes logbook (if you have one)</li></ul>Please be aware that there are no toilets in the park.For more information: please contact us on harrownatureheroes@gmail.comHow to get here: Yeading Open Space is a beautiful strip of land running alongside the Yeading Brook.
