As we have been sheltering at home our world has shrunk and our relationship to the spaces we inhabit have changed. This workshop aims to use rituals and magical writing practices to help us renegotiate the domestic space and the language we use to explore it. Firstly, we will discuss domestic folktales that will help us to reconsider our spaces through the lens of magic and ritual. Then we will ask the audience to participate in two writing rituals: 1. Space weaving - using string/wool/thread we will weave webs in our home spaces (this can be anything from your entire living room or just your desk) which will encourage us to view and move around our spaces in new ways. We will write in response to this exercise.2. Asemic writing - using household or found objects such as wooden spoons, twigs, charging cables (anything you don’t mind getting mucky) to make marks using paint or ink. The aim of this exercise is to help us to think and write through the domestic. The goal of the workshop is to encourage exploration and reimagining of domestic spaces through ritual centered writing. " - E.PE.P is a poet and artist based in Kent, the editor of Coven, a recent graduate of Royal Holloway’s Poetic Practice MA, and a founding member of the Crested Tit Collective.
