<h1>Sarah Moule &amp; Simon Wallace: Stormy Emotions</h1>For the last 18 years of her life lyricist Fran Landesman (1927-2011) met every week with composer Simon Wallace to write songs. So far Sarah Moule has introduced 45 of their songs over five CDs, and for her forthcoming appearance at Chandos Arms Jazz she'll be singing some from her latest album Stormy Emotions.Born In New York City Fran moved to London in 1964. During her lifetime her words were recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Barbra Streisand and many others.Sarah Moule has established a reputation as one of Britain’s most exciting jazz vocal talents. She has performed with many stalwarts of British jazz including Ian Shaw, Claire Martin, Iain Ballamy, Tim Garland and Steve Waterman to name but a few. She toured the Mediterranean with Ronnie Scott’s pianist John Critchinson in ‘A Tribute To Ronnie Scott’, performing opposite the legendary bebop duo Jackie &amp; Roy. She was also featured vocalist with the John Wilson Orchestra for many years.“As soon as Simon played me the songs he’d been writing with Fran Landesman I knew I wanted to sing them” says Sarah. “They resonated with me, musically and lyrically – great tunes and lyrics that seemed to be about how we live today and the emotional highs and lows we all have to deal with. I immediately started singing them on the gigs I was doing in Soho and haven’t stopped yet”.Simon Wallace has had a varied international career as a composer, pianist and musical director. He has performed in 26 countries and appears regularly at Ronnie Scott’s Club, The Vortex and the 606 Club in London and has played several seasons at The Cafe Carlyle and The Metropolitan Room in New York. From 1993 until her death in 2011 he wrote songs with American lyricist Fran Landesman and for over 30 years worked with the late Simon Brint composing music for some of Britain’s most popular TV shows. There is on-street parking in the roads round the pub.Colindale underground station (Northern Line) is a short walk away. Can I pay on the night? Yes, for those who haven't pre-booked there is a collection at the interval (although you won't be entitled to the discount on meals). We do expect you to contribute the normal admission fee unless you qualify for a concessionary rate.Are there any concessions? There is a lower ticket price for students in full-time education. Students and unwaged can also turn up on the night and pay whatever you like (or even nothing).
