About:
Megan's practice retraces the beginnings of photography to foster sustainable solutions for image-making, deconstructing recipes from over two hundred years ago, to address a new 'Botanicogram' method of photography without silver or plastic at its core, conveying an urgent environmental, contextual message. In the workshop, contemporary light-sensitive images inspired by Fox Talbot’s calotype process, will be created by participants - in daylight - using plants to make light-sensitive emulsions and developers, in an exciting and immersive creative learning session, made possible by The Heritage Fund, Trinity Buoy Wharf Trust and SS Robin Trust.
Notes to participants:
Although this process is non-toxic we will provide protective gloves/aprons and it is recommended that participants wear old clothing, as plant solutions can stain.
The Pontoon exhibition space supporting SS Robin is not accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters due to its historical design.
Please only book tickets if you are able to attend, as unused tickets prevent others from having the opportunity to participate.
