About this event

Family & Education • Parenting

Food for Thought – supporting families with problematic eating and mealtimes, is a workshop that has been developed in collaboration with Health psychologist, Dr Sarah Snuggs at the University of Reading. Dr Sarah Snuggs and Dr Polly Cowan have undertaken academic research together identifying the need for tailored food based interventions for care experienced children and families. Their research indicated that problematic patterns of eating were significantly higher in a care experienced population.

The workshop uses the expertise of Jette Lemvig, occupational therapist, who has worked with families struggling with food and mealtimes alongside academic research and adoption and fostering expertise. It is aimed at supporting families feeling more confident at supporting eating behaviours and mealtimes and reduces the conflict that can occur around food and mealtimes
