Here for Each Other are offering fully funded places on the Cruse Bereavement training for primary care staff in frontline roles talking to patients who may have experienced bereavement. Loss and bereavement awareness is delivered virtually over 2.5 hours by experienced Cruse trainers. The course aims to help you to respond to, and support bereaved people but also considers the impact on yourself and helps you to manage your own and your colleagues wellbeing.

Some Dorset primary care business support and reception staff recently road tested this training and said:

  • “It definitely opened my eyes and I think it allows staff to have the confidence to speak to patients that have experience bereavement.”
  • “It also helped them to recognise when they, themselves may have been affected by a story and where, when and how to get help for this. It showed them that it is okay to be affected by a story but to recognise this and to get help if needed”
  • "Even though I work a lot with bereavement I learned things I didn't know and was reminded of things I'd forgotten"
  • "It has given me more understanding of bereavement especially the models explained"
  • "A very informative workshop and a good pace. Thoroughly enjoyed it."

Please register for a place via Eventbrite, the details you provide will be shared with Cruse so that they can book you onto their training system. Places are limited and have been funded from the Here for Each Other wellbeing service, if you are unable to attend your course please cancel and contact traininghub@ourdorset.nhs.uk so that it can be reassigned.
