Promenade Heritage Project

Local Historian Chris Matthews will give a guided tour of the area, celebrating the  insights gained during the Promenade Heritage Project.

Victoria Park (Meet near the Clubhouse)

This tour will be be given at 13.30 and repeated again at 14:30. Each tour will last approximately 45 minutes. In 1973 The Promenade, Robin Hood Terrace and Campbell Grove were officially designated as a General Improvement Area, which saved these streets from the wrecking the ball. This endowed the City of Nottingham with an impressive heritage that now spans over 160 years. Some of this history can be read in the very fabric of the buildings, while the archival documents point to significant changes over the decades.
