Storytelling training for climate activists in Wales

The current climate crisis offers one of the most serious challenges we face today. But despite the clear evidence and the scientific case for tackling climate change having been made, why do we still find it challenging to get audiences to take real and meaningful action on the climate crisis? And what can we do about this, especially in light of the urgency of this situation? We need a new approach. We need to become better storytellers.Ministory will be running a series of workshops to help develop your storytelling skills so that you can reach out to new and ‘cold’ audiences to motivate and engage them on taking action on climate action. These workshops are specifically designed for climate activists, ambassadors, communicators, volunteers and campaign managers working on tackling climate change here in Wales.This first training module will explore what we mean by storytelling and why we all need to become better storytellers if we are to really inspire and motivate audiences into taking meaningful action on climate related issues. In this training we will explore how to transcend the logic of the marketing paradigm and move to a new way of engaging audiences through storytelling in order to reach out and engage cold and inactive audiences.
This training is being delivered by specialist storytelling experts Ministory, in partnership with Climate Cymru and Stop Climate Chaos Wales.
