Storytelling training for climate activists in Wales

The current climate crisis offers one of the most serious challenges we face today. But despite the clear evidence and the scientific case for tackling climate change having been made, why do we still find it challenging to get audiences to take real and meaningful action on the climate crisis? And what can we do about this, especially in light of the urgency of this situation? We need a new approach. We need to become better storytellers.Ministory will be running a series of workshops to help develop your storytelling skills so that you can reach out to new and ‘cold’ audiences to motivate and engage them on taking action on climate action. These workshops are specifically designed for climate activists, ambassadors, communicators, volunteers and campaign managers working on tackling climate change here in Wales.This third training module will explore the reason why most of our decisions, motivation drivers and values are driven by unconscious forces. If we are to really motivate audiences into action we need a better understanding of the unconscious mind to help help unlock some of the biggest challenges we face with audience engagement. We will explore new insights from recent neurological research that will show how storytelling can lead to long-term behavioural change.This training is being delivered by specialist storytelling experts Ministory, in partnership with Climate Cymru and Stop Climate Chaos Wales.
