Imagine If... we created learning environments that supported young people to be thought leaders, pioneers, imagineers and empowered thinkers!? Theatre, drama and creative earning company Mortal Fools, think it is possible and it starts with learning to be brave, how to fail well and manage fear through building emotional resilience, grit and bounce.

Mortal Fools will led a participatory session that draws on social science research in grit and resilience and share their building blocks to cultivate cultures and creative environments that enable risk taking, innovation, creativity and celebrate mistakes.

This workshop will cover:

Creating and holding warm, safe, creative spaces through understanding the fundamental human need to be creative.
Practical approaches to be brave and bold within learning environments.
Growth mindset verses Fixed mindset.
Tools to overcome mistake anxiety.
Emotional resilience as a practice to support grit and build bounce back.
Understanding the physical and chemical effect of the stress response on body and mind.
Dealing with uncertainty and lack of control.
Practical ways to boost personal grit and participant grit.

Mortal Fools will also share their top #3 failures from the past 12months, as a demonstration of how to fail “well”, what was learnt and how it enabled their work.

Strategies that can be immediately implemented with ease and impact.

Mortal Fools will produce a resource post session that includes further reading, notes and suggested activities.
