Join us to stand up to ALL forms of Hate Crime on our Tower Hamlets Peace Walk as part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week  9th - 16th Oct

As part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week from 9th – 16th October 2021, the Tower Hamlets LGBT+ Community Forum are leading a Peace Walk in the borough to bring together communities and organisations representing those who experience hate crime and our allies. When: Friday 15th October 2021Time: 2.15 – 5.00pmWhere: Meeting at Shaheed Minar Memorial in Altab Ali Park and walking to St John’s Church, Bethnal Green. 2.15pm: Walk RoutePlease note: The walk will be on the pavement.We will set off at 2.30pm on a route taking us through Brick Lane, past the location of one of the nail bombing attacks of 1999, then on to Bethnal Green Road and heading to St Johns Church on Bethnal Green.3.30pm: Event at St John’s Church<ul><li>Refreshments</li><li>Peace Activity </li><li>Speeches from representatives of peace supporting organisations talking about the impact of hate crime</li></ul>Speakers Include: <ul><li>Ansar Ahmed Ullah - Altab Ali Foundation</li><li>Maggie Pinhorn - Tower Hamlets Women&#x27;s Network </li><li>Mark Paterson - ELOP &amp; Tower Hamlets LGBT Community Forum </li><li>Mark Healey - 17-24-30- National Hate Crime Awareness Week</li><li>Alan Green - No Place For Hate Forum &amp; Interfaith Forum </li><li>Superintendent Andy Port - Neighbourhood Policing, Central East – Hackney and Tower Hamlets</li><li>Councillor Sirajul Islam - Cabinet Member for Community Safety </li></ul>We hope to see you there!!For further information or queries please email lgbtforum@elop.orgCOVID InformationWe will be leading the event in line with government guidelines and will do everything we can to ensure everyone feels safe.
