We are delighted to announce that the next London & South East AGM and Area Meeting will be taking place in-person at the prestigious headquarters of the Alpine Club in Shoreditch, London on Tuesday 19th October.

Those that attend will be able to view Everest, by 'Those Who Were There' 1921, 1922, 1924. An exhibition celebrating the centennial of the 1921 reconnaissance of Mount Everest and the first attempts to reach the summit in 1922 and 1924.

Due to capacity limits at the venue, all those wishing to attend in person are required book a ticket.

Drink and crisps will be available however to make the processing of payment simple we are asking attendees to purchase a drinks voucher in advance as we will not be able to take payment on the night.

We are also very excited to say that for the first time if you can’t attend in-person you can attend online. Please select the online option when booking your ticket to receive the Zoom access details.

The in-person aspect of the meeting is under constant review and subject to COVID restrictions. Should we have to cancel we will inform you as soon as possible and arrange a refund.

Access to the Alpine Club is from 6:15pm for viewing the exhibition. The AGM will start at 7pm followed by the area meeting. There will also be a short amount of time after the meeting to view the exhibition.

Getting to the Alpine Club

Nearest Tube: The Club House is a 10 minute walk From Old Street Tube station. When you come out of the station follow the signs for EXIT 3; once outside (up a ramp) carry straight on (Old Street) to a big road junction (with Great Eastern Road) and a pedestrian crossing. Cross over and take the smaller road to the left of Rivington House (the road has no name sign, it is Rivington Street) until it crosses Charlotte Road - turn right and the Alpine Club is on your left.

London Buses: Daytime buses run until about 0030. Night buses run from about 0030. The following bus stops are close to the club (see map above): Ravey Street (2 minute walk), Curtain Road (5 minute walk), Coronet Street (5 minute walk), Shoreditch Town Hall Old Street (5 minute walk).
