Learn how to make your own stop motion animation in this practical workshop with Peyvand Sadeghian.

For first timers to animation, this two hour practical workshop will guide you through how to jump right in and try something new. Coming from a puppetry background and new to animation themselves, Peyvand will show you through some of the principles of giving life to the inanimate, and the basics of stop motion animation. You will need a smartphone or a tablet. By the end of the workshop you will have had a go at making your very first stop motion animation, and have practical tips on where to go next for inspiration and continuing to play. Peyvand is a Performer &amp; Performance Maker who seeks to make socially engaged work which activates an audience and prompts them to consider the world around them and their place within it. Their work often combines live action with puppetry, projection, and direct address to the audience. Through the support of Theatre in the Mill Bradford and Arts Council England's Develop Your Creative Practice fund, Peyvand has also tried her hand at stop motion animation. Springing from her own experience as a woman of mixed immigrant heritage (Malaysian Chinese &amp; Iranian), and growing up in one of the poorest parts of the UK , common themes include resistance, displacement, and memory. Recent projects include: The Art of Uprising (MENA Arts UK short film commission), Barbican Open Lab 2021, Dual دوگانه (Vault Festival 2020 Show of the Week award), Rich Kids: A History of Shopping Malls in Tehran (Fringe First award 2019), Marty &amp; the Party (Milk presents).These workshops are only available to directory members. If you do not have a profile already, please create one on our website in order to book yourself into workshops.Because there is limited space in each workshop, you can only register for up to 3 workshops. However, this doesn’t include the four “Creative Huddles” and “Writing a Successful Arts Council Application”.
