Celebrating our new exhibition Making Nuno. Curator Kate Grenyer talks to Executive Director and Head Curator at CHAT Mizuki Takahashi.

Dovecot welcomes Executive Director and Head Curator of the Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT) Hong Kong, Mizuki Takahashi. Takahashi Mizuki has worked extensively as a contemporary art curator in Japan on exhibitions focusing on manga, architecture, performance, film, music and visual art.
Takahashi will discuss the genesis for the Exhibition Making NUNO: Japanese Textile Innovation from Sudō Reiko and the cultural and creative importance of NUNO to Japanese Art and textile, and wider textile and creative cultures. 
Takahashi’s curatorial experience at Art Tower Mito, where she curated the solo shows of British artists such as Julian Opie and Darren Almond whose artistic productions have been influenced by Japan, gives her a specialist insight into the transcultural influence of Japanese cultures and their impact on non-Japanese artists.
