About the Event Get ready for some soul touching moments at this event where the peers of colour cohort will showcase their learning from our first ever virtual learning marathon. We will explore the themes of: connection, heritage, rest, growth and personal power as people of colour through various interactive stations. Meet the peers of colour group and delve into their stories whilst trying out something new for yourself. Join our story swap!Throughout this journey, we’ve been exchanging gifts of learning, as well as exploring alternative economies.We invite you to bring a book, poem or story that has impacted your journey that you’d like to gift onwards to another guest.COVID, safety, and access:We will ensure our guests are well cared for, and that we respect COVID safety measures, even in light of restrictions lifting:We are limiting capacity to ensure there can be adequate space for social distancingThe space will be kept ventilated throughout the eveningWe will be providing hand sanitiser, and welcome attendees to wear masks if they feel more comfortable doing soWe will spread seating out and leave space for mingling to happen at a safe distanceWe ask everyone to be mindful that although restrictions have been lifted and vaccinations are commonplace, this is still an anxious time for many. Give others space and ask for consent before making any form of physical contact, and check in with others when conversing with them at a close distance.Accessibility at The Advocacy AcademyThere is a 3.5” step at the entrance doorway, with a ramp to support access in the space. There is a toilet which meets accessibility requirements. Assistance dogs are welcome in the space. There is no hearing loop or PA system on site at the moment. Further detailed accessibility information is available.Travel: The nearest tube station is Brixton, on the Victoria Line, which has step free access to the train. Drop-offs can be made outside the entrance, with a drop-kerb 1.5 metres from the front door. There is no reserved parking, but there is limited on street pay-and-display parking directly in front of the Campus (free for blue badge holders).Should there be anything you need to support you to be able to participate well, please let us know. This includes but is not limited to language, comfort, access (physical, emotional, technological).
